Ho Ho Ho Gift card holder

I'm here with a quick share today. I made this super quick gift card the other day with very few products.

The stamp set is from Hampton Arts. I bought it years ago and forgot I even had it until we moved last year and found it. I love this little Santa.  I made the card a tad smaller than normal. I used a 1 inch crease at the bottom of the card to fold up inside so I could put a gift card inside. I colored Santa with some Prisma colored pencils and used this die from Simon Say Stamp.

Super fast, super cute.

Tomorrow I will be here with a watercolor card for a2z Scrapbooking and on Monday I am going to show you how I used this set to create a winter card. Don't believe you can use flowers for a wintery card? Come back Monday and I'll show you how easy it really was! :)

I'm also entering this card in this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is all about Christmas and Holiday's

See you then.

Pawsome Christmas

Hey! Today I am here sharing a card that was inspired by Jennifer McGuire. Usually when I get in a rut (like I have been) I turn to others for inspiration. I go to Pinterest, blogs, old magazines etc. Inspiration is everywhere. Some times it works, other times not so much. This time....it kicked my mojo into HIGH GEAR!!! I have been on a card making binge.

Here is the Video that Jen did that started my mojo, and here is my card:

In her video, Jen used the Halloween set by Simon Says Stamp. I didn't have that set but I did have the Pawsome set. I used a Memento Dew Drop to ink up the stamp and left the neck portion of the stamp (the part with the collar) blank. I used a black marker to draw in the neck after.

I used Copic Liner and a ruler to add the lines and the lights to the dog....we are calling him Boomer after my menace of a Golden Retriever. ;)

I stamped the card both horizontally and vertically. I like them both, so I went with it. I used a Hero Arts tree and left it empty to emphasize the puppy with the lights. I have a feeling Boomer is going to do this to our tree this year.  I colored the dog, lights and tree in with Copics.

I die cut the title out of some Red Velvet Paper that I bought at Michael's and then I added some Wink of Stella to all of it!

So simple.  I urge you to try to stretch those stamps, take inspiration from someone and run with it. It really helps kick that mojo in.  Just be sure to credit whomever inspired you! ;)

Have a wonderful day.

Peaceful Poinsettia's

Hello everyone! Today I am guesting over on A Blog Named Hero. They are having a month long celebration of Christmas Favorites. For my "Favorite" I chose Poinsettia's for the pure reason that every time I see one I am reminded of my Gram. I remember seeing them in all different colors in her bedroom as I was growing up. She loved them and she used to have them in every color.

This is one of the 3 cards that I made. If you would like to see the other two please head over to A Blog Named Hero. :)

Make sure you leave some love on all the blog posts over there this month too. Simon Says Stamp is giving away 2 $25 Gift Certificates and Hero Arts is offering a prize package....which I am sure is AMAZING!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Cheer--New SSS Stamptember Release

HI! I am really, really excited to be back today with this post. I am sorry it was delayed. The start of school threw me. I have literally been living in my car driving the kids EVERYWHERE. I never even made it to the stamp room until Saturday night to clean it.

Anyhow, I received a SWEET TREAT in the mail a little over a week ago. It was THIS FAB stamp set from Simon Says Stamp!!! I was so excited to play with it. I started playing with the trees immediately and had a few sneaks on Twitter and Instagram:

These are the trees when they were still wet.

An Instagram Sneak that shows all the yummy glittery goodness.  Perfect pearls on the background, Distress Stickles and Wink of Stella. The options for glittery goodness are everywhere these days.

Today I am revealing the entire card:

I started by stamping the trees in Hero Arts black ink, then I took my colored pencils and just kept drawing lines in different colors of green until I got that natural pine look.  It is such an easy way to get dimension and texture while coloring.  After they were colored I covered the entire tree in Rock Candy Stickles. While the Rock Candy was still wet I added Star Dust Stickles (Thank you Kelly Latevola) to the edges to make it look like ice and snow.  The look of these trees are so AMAZING in person.

I also fussy cut the sled....no easy task but with the help of a really sharp xacto knife it made it easier.

The presents were cut from scraps of paper.

The background is Distress Chipped Sapphire and Distress Faded Jeans, with a heavy dose of Perfect Pearls on them.

There are so many wonderful stamps, dies and stencils in the Stamptember release. Make sure you check them all out. :)

Have a great day.

Season's Greetings....Wait? WHAT???

Yes, you read that right....SEASON'S GREETINGS!!!!! It's getting to be that time of year where we must think about Christmas Cards. It kills me...I want Summer and my flip flops every single day of the year. But...it is just not meant to be. Hero Arts came out with a new catalog and a2z Scrapbooking and the Design Team are celebrating it this month. So our theme for the month is FALL & Christmas!

For my card I used two new sets from the Holiday Hero Arts catalog. They were instantly my favorites when I saw them and I have a lot of ideas in store for these. Here is today's card:

I started by stamping the Poinsettia's in Red Royal Mid-tone ink and the Holly Leaves in Forever Green. I then took my Prismacolor Pencils and shaded them. I love to add shading to a stamped image with colored pencils and blend it in with some Gamsol. I think it adds so much to it. I finished by adding a shadow in light gray, a few dots of Viva Pearl Dots (LOVE) and a sentiment embossed in Liquid Platinum.

I finished with Wink of Stella....look at that sparkly goodness. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that pen!!!!

If you would like to purchase some new stamps from the Hero Arts catalog, then head over to  a2z Scrapbooking Store and use the code MICHELLE15 to receive 15% off of your order!!!

That's all for me today. Head on over to a2z's Scrabooking Blog....you want want to miss the goodness the other girls  have for you.

I'll be back with a 2nd post later today to show you a NEW stamp set from SIMON SAYS STAMP TOO!
