I Love you--Pix Scan Mat

Hello!  Today I am playing along with Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  It's a designer draft this week. I knew what I wanted to do the second I saw the sketch....I just had one little problem...I didn't have a die for the 'LOVE' heart.  Enter the Pix Scan mat by Silhouette.

I used double sided tape and glitter for the stripes. I wanted to do the same thing for the PS Heart from the Sweet Heart set.  So I thought and thought and then it dawned on me that this would be the perfect time to try that new PixScan Mat from Silhouette!

I started by stamping the heart in regular black ink on a scrap piece of white cardstock, then I put it on the PixScan Mat and took a picture with my iphone.

  

Once you take the picture...e-mail it to yourself, download it and then open your Silhouette Software.  Once in Silhouette there is a little icon in the left upper corner that is a PixScan Mat (3rd icon from the left) Click it and follow the onscreen directions to get your image into Silhouette Studio.  

Once the image is in Silhouette Studio all you have to do is use the TRACE feature. If you do not have experience with tracing I really suggest you watch this ENTIRE series "Tracing Without Tears". It has been a game changer for me.

Once I had the trace done I put in some double sided adhesive, and cut. It worked PERFECTLY and it is the same exact size as the PS stamp. I LOVE that I just got a die cut for this wonderful stamp!  It has just taken stamping and die cutting to a whole new level.

Dot Com Password Book

Hi everyone!  Sorry for the lapse. I was so sick after Christmas and then my back went down. I spent almost 2 weeks on the floor, couch and in bed. I couldn't even sit.  I am back though. Hoping to redo my blog in between working on cards, journals etc.

Today I have a project up on A Blog Named Hero. I will be doing a special, new project every month over there. So head on over to see what that will be and see the quick, fun, easy project I have up for today. I will give you a hint:

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...again!

Hi!  I decided to switch today's post. I am loving the theme over at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge Blog....SNOW. I absolutely LOVE Snowmen. These from Paper Smooches are some of my favorites and I just had to have them the second I saw them.

Another new to me product that I am absolutely loving is Embossing Paste. OH MY!!!  This stuff is just FUN, FUN, FUN!

For this card I used the Simon Says Stamp Ho, ho, ho stencil and embossing paste colored with some Picked Raspberry Distress ink reinkers. Just a drop gives you incredible color. It only took a short while to dry too.  I stamped and die cut the snowman and colored him to match.

Here's a close up of the embossing paste. It gives dimension but not too much. It is just perfect.

For this card I used Simon Says Stamp's diagonal stripe stencil and a little bit of Hero Arts Tide Pool Dauber for color. I just LOVE this color.  Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye.

That is all for today. We are in for our first real accumulation of snow this weekend. As much as I hate the cold I admit I am a little excited to stay in all cozy and stamp for the day.

Compost happens

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing a card that I made with my newest Paper Smooches stamps. I just LOVE PS. The images are fun and whimsical and they are just the right size to color and fussy cut.

Normally I don't do the insides of cards but every once in a while a card calls for it and I really thought this one did.

How cute are those veggies? Speaking of the insides of cards have you seen the newest Online Card Class? It's all about the insides of cards. I've already signed up for it. Here's the advertisement for it if you haven't already seen it:
