Nordic Snowflake wall hanging

Hi! I am here today to share a wall hanging that I just made for my living room. I have two small spaces on either side of my front door and I wanted something really festive to hang there this holiday.


I started by pulling up the Hero Arts Nordic Snowflake in my Silhouette software. I made minor adjustments to it and took out the smallest parts. I then placed a piece of double sided adhesive down on some Hero Arts layering paper. I peeled only one side of the protective sheet off of the adhesive paper and left the side facing up on. I then loaded it into my Silhouette. I cut out the snowflake. I suggest putting your blade on 8 or 9 to cut through all the layers. I put mine on 7 and ended up having to use an exacto knife in a lot of spots as it didn't go all the way through.


Once it was all cut out I peeled back the adhesives protective layer and added a very healthy coating of Martha Stewart's Turquoise glitter to it.

I added a pinwheel rosette that I made out of Basic Grey's Aspen Frost. I used a 6x6 pad. You just have to cut 2 strips of it and lay them on the Tim Holtz Rosette die and then glue the ends together.

I folded 3 layers of velvet ribbon and added that. I added 2 other Hero Snowflakes covered with Starfall Stickles to the ribbon and topped it off with a big ole rectangle rhinestone.





I then stamped the Aspen Frost Believe stamps onto watercolor paper with Versamark, heat embossed them, inked them well with Distress inks and then spritzed the bejeezus out of them with Perfect Pearls and let them dry. I circled each one with Starfall Stickles.


I completed it by cutting another Hero snowflake out of my Silhouette using the double sided adhesive on the Hero paper again and again covering it with Martha Stewart glitter.

I attached everything using pop dots and fishing line. I forgot to add that the stamps on water color paper are two sided. I stamped, inked and misted each one twice so that I could hold the fishing line in between it. I punched a small hole in the bottom snowflake and ran the fishing line through it. The top snowflake I just used a hole that was already there to put the fishing line through.
