fun gift card holders for girls

So I was browsing through my Silhouette SD images the other night. I needed to make quite a few birthday cards for little girls this week as Faith has a lot of parties to go to in the next month. I wanted to do something different when I stumbled upon this purse image(handbag_C00023_23067). I decided to revamp it a bit and make a card out of it. I removed the clasp from it and rotated it and then added a circle to it for the clasp then welded the entire thing together to make a template. I cut it out and then I went to town decorating it. I have a stack of them ready to be done today in numerous colors and I have other shapes I will be playing with today also.

For the inside make up I cut some in 2 colors and glued them together (mascara, lipstick) and for the compact I printed it in black, white and pink and then glued it together. I used a silver leafing pen for the mirror portion and a gold leafing pen for the "powder" and then put the pink puff on top.

The clasp is the circle I mentioned above and I put a punched scallop circle on it, then a button and then another circle stamped with the little girls initial.

I decided that I would make them into gift card/money holders and that way we could just go buy some gift cards or put cash in them (I hate doing cash but sometimes it's just easier and kids love cash ;) )

This is the first of many. The possibilities are endless and you can really gear them to the child's interests/taste. The little girl receiving this one is a total "diva"! lol She loves purses and makeup and girlie things so I went with a stronger color palette. She's 10 and that tween age can be so difficult. I also have some that I am gearing towards women rather than kids. Again, endless possibilities. :)

I'll be back later to upload the others. Have a GREAT day!
