Believe

My family and I were very blessed this past Christmas. Ray has been out of work for over 1 yr things have been pretty poor. No money, no food, no new clothes etc. When Christmas rolled around I wanted to crawl under a rock and sleep through it. Then miracle by miracle we were blessed. There are 5 pages of journaling attached to this layout. I want my children to completely understand how truly blessed we were. I don't ever want them to forget what an amazing community we live in. I want them to remember to give back to this amazing community...even the smallest things can make the biggest impact.

I am not going to put all the journaling up as it's not something I think my kids want splattered all over the www. I will say that my children were "Adopted" this past Christmas by an incredible Martial Arts Studio. Their community bought everything you see in the 4x6 tree pictures. They wrapped it and gave it to my kids this year along with a FREE 1 YR Membership. The blessings didn't end there. It was AH-MAZE-ING to say the least! I want my children to always "believe" in themselves, in Chrismtas magic and good will towards man.

I borrowed the top of the layout idea from Nichol Magouirk...I loved THIS layout! The entire layout is a sketch by Becky Fleck over on her site Page Maps. I love maps and they help simplify my life. The Scrapbook & Cards today blog has a challenge going on that is about using sketches, journaling, scrapping and including memoribilia going on this year in their section called Project 12. I love this idea. I am hoping to get one done every month.

I cut most of it on my Silhouette. I used Echo Park's Season's Greetings and October Afternoon's Holiday Style on it. :)

Hi Michelle! What a great post! Amazing layout! I think it's so important for all kids to remember that with love, support and faith, they can get through even the toughest of times. So glad you've got a loving community to help when times are difficult! Hugs and happy weekend - can't wait to see the cards you create! :)
