A Memorial Day--THANK YOU!!

thank you/bottom of my heart *shaker*

I made this card a long time ago. I thought I would re-post it today. I have many family members who have served. I have one in Iraq as I type and my dear friends son was just called for Afghanistan.

This card is for all those who have protected our freedoms. From my grandfather who fought in both World Wars to my family and friends who are serving now....THANK YOU... from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for protecting the freedom we cherish so much. Thank you for letting me lay my head on my pillow at night and know that my family and I are safe, thank you for risking your life day in and day out for this great country we live in.

And lastly....to the amazing women who stay at home day in and day out wondering if their husband is safe. For raising their children will the love and guidance all alone while your man protects our freedom. You are a special breed of person and I admire you so much. Thank you for your sacrifice.

May GOD Bless our service men and women and keep them safe during these troubled times. You are forever in my heart and prayer.

God Bless America!

Happy 10th Birthday....

Today we celebrated my sweet baby girls birthday. She isn't really 10 until the 31st but the rule around here is you are your new age the moment you blow out the candles! Well she actually blew them out twice today as dumb me forgot to hit the start button on the video so we did a re-do! lol

Happy 10th birthday

I used My Minds Eye new Lime Twist Papers patterned paper. A Sizzix embossing folder, Studio G Cupcake stamp, River City Rubber Works number stamps and American Crafts Rub-ons. One of my few cards that has no Hero Arts stamps.

I am exhausted. Her party consisted of 25 people, many of them children, then roller skating for 3 hours. I came home visited with my mom and sister for a while and took a 2 hour nap. Off to bed early tonight.

Happy Memorial Day weekend. I hope you have a good one! :)

Happy Friday Friends

This is another "less loved" card that I made for Paper Crafts. I love the new papers by My Mind's Eye and bought a bunch of the 6x6 paper pads. This is from Lime Twist. I want to wallpaper my house in these prints. I love them!

3 dotted flowers-- friends

I stamped the Hero Arts 3 Dotted flowers and then colored them in with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Stitched on some yummy paper. Cut a large circle out to mount my flowers on (more because I loved the paper and wanted to see more of it), then I pop dotted the flowers and added some rolled mesh for stems. I finished it off by tying the ribbon around the stems. The title plate was cut out from the Hero Arts Congrats set (CL488) and I stamped the word "Friends" from Lauderdale Floral Set(CL513).

Off to prepare for my girl's birthday party tomorrow, make a yearbook, tend to a sick child, clean a house, walk the dogs and so much more!

I won't be around this weekend so have a fabulous weekend! :) See you Monday!

Summer 2007

A quick share tonight. I am being sucked into the black abyss of "Yearbook time" again. I have a Yearbook to put out for our 8th graders and it's due to be at the printers on the 8th of June. I have the kids working on some digital pages but I have the bulk of them plus all the tweeking. I will try to post but please don't stray too far away because when "Yearbook time" is done I have some really cool give-a-ways to do.

Onto tonight's project. It did this for a DT application submission. I never heard anything so I am guessing they have picked their team. They were supposed to announce this week. Anyhow, I banged out 3 projects in 3 days. The frame I posted the other day was one, this is the 2nd. I actually made this page in under 2 hours....really!!! I followed the Nichol Magouirk theory...get lots of photos on a page! I am so pleased with this layout that I may do year in review layouts like she does. It was fast, easy, brought back a million memories and I had a blast doing it.

summer 2007

All paper is Echo Park except for the clouds which is Jillibean! I love these 2 companies. The stickers are Echo Park, title is cut from my Silhouette. I cut it once from red and once from a very odd light gray. I printed all the photos on HP photo paper in either 1x1, 1x2 or 2x1. The tag is from a company I haven't heard of before Simple Stories. Click on their name and check them out. I love the paper line and plan to do another summer page soon.

Ok, break is over must go back to the Yearbook. Have a wonderful day/night

Glitter Heart Frame.....

I made this over the weekend. I really had a good time making it. Although, truth be told my entire house is covered in glitter specks. I keep finding them everywhere including on the dogs! lol! I took pictures as I went along.

000_0287

I started with some Therm-O-Web SuperTape sheets. I always have these on hand. They work so well with glitter. There are lots of uses for this stuff. I have a few more projects that I can share later with other uses.

My project size is a 5x7 frame. I am putting it in my daughters room. I measured the frame portion onto white cardstock to make sure all my hearts would show within the frame.

000_0277

I ran my white cardstock through my Silhouette and used a heart shape that I sized to 1x1 and cut 24 of them out.

000_0269

I did the same thing with my sheet of SuperTape
000_0270

I inked some of the hearts with my favorite Distress inks, some I left white. The deeper tones are the ones that had the heart, a layer of Distress ink, Supertape and then glitter. The others were just plain white, SuperTape and then glitter. I love how I used the same color glitter but got different tones of color. Inexpensive and incredible results.

000_0274

To add the glitter you just peel the white film off the back, attach it to a heart and then peel the pink film off and pour glitter on it. It's so very easy to use. (If you do hearts it's easiest to line the heart and the SuperTape up by aligning the points of the hearts together first.) I added 3 foam squares onto the back of each heart.

000_0276

Now I am sure you are asking...why didn't I just attach the SuperTape to the cardstock before I ran it through the Silhouette...it's because I wanted to ink the hearts for the 2 tone effect. But for the title, I did just that! ;)

000_0279

000_0280

What I did for the title is I carefully cut away the pink film on the heart only with my xacto knife. and then used the glitter on it. After that was done I peeled away the love and you and put pink glitter on it.

Popped it in a frame and Voila! A pretty decoration for her room.

I hope you have a fabulous day. I have so much to share this week....see you tomorrow :)

Here comes the sun

Good morning!!! It's a beautiful Saturday here in Massachusetts. The sun is shining and for once we are not getting that cold ocean breeze. I made this card a while back for a Paper Crafts sketch call. I love this card. It's just fun and it has one of my favorite songs on it by the Beatles.

here comes the sun2

The inspiration for this card was the KI Puffies. I had just got them in the mail and couldn't wait to use them. I created my card digitally first. Placing a circle where I wanted the sun to be and then manipulating the text I created the sun rays. I then printed it. I also created the inside of the card at the same time and printed it on patterned paper. I punched a hole in the card then punched holes to stitch the sun rays. I back-stitched the sun rays in with DMC floss. I punched some clouds, highlighted them with some Copics and then stitched the edge of the card.

Easey Peasy. I didn't use one stamp on this card. I am shocked. It's rare when that happens :) Off to plant flowers and veggies. Have a wonderful day.

**note: I am working on figuring out how to link all my product by thumbnail. Hoping to have it all done this week

Tropical flowers

I was thinking of tropical weather yesterday and how we have the rain (5+ days in a row so far) but not many beautiful flowers yet...so I decided to create my own.

tropical thank you flower

tropical flower close-up

I used the Luscious Bold Flowers set from the Basic Grey/Hero Arts marriage for the Hello Luscious Collection. I love these flowers.

I inked them with Versamark then embossed with white embossing powder. I used Distress inks to color the flowers in ( Marigold, Orange Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Barn Door) I then took the smaller of the 2 and made small slits through each petal making the center flower. I scrunched it all together and then added a brad to attach it to the smaller flower and then the bigger flower. I curved all the edges up.

I stamped the flowers in Poppy Ink by Hero Arts on a Poppy Hero Arts note card, added my sentiment and boom...done!

Have a few cards to share this week and when I get to 50 followers I have a give-a-way to do with some fun products.

Have a wonderful day and if it's raining where you are....think of tropical flowers...it helps ;)

Reject post....

{I hate the word "reject". I must think of a new word for it.}

Today I have 2 cards to share. These were recently turned down by Paper Crafts for the recent call. I have another to share later.
snowglobe

The picture doesn't do it justice. It's so sparkly and pretty in person.

I used my Silhouette to cut the globe shape, Hero arts stars and a snowflake are embossed on the back of the globe, I then covered it with blue glitter. I stamped the Imaginesce polar bear on transparency, then colored him in with Stickles and then pop dotted him onto another stamped image.

I trimmed some Echo Park paper down, mounted and stitched it onto a Hero notecard and then stamped the greeting.

This next one was a lot of fun and again the picture doesn't do it justice. I really need to get the picture taking thing down during the day and not shoot them at night.

Seasons Greetings wreath

I stamped the background with the Hero arts larege fabric pattern stamp with Distress inks in Peeled Paint and Barn Door and the spritzed with Perfect pearls. I then stamped it onto water color paper. I stamped the wreath onto canvas, trimmed in a circle then frayed the edges. I used small strips of canvas to create some tiny rosettes. The poinsettia is a Prima flower spritzed with Sunflower Sparkles Perfect Pearls.

NSD Challenge

A quick share. I got very little done in the way of scrapping on NSD. I did manage to get this layout done for the challenge on the Hero Arts blog and for a stamping on a scrapbook page at 2 peas. Normally I don't combine challenges but I am this time ;)

family

I love the sketch by Kandis so much that I stayed true to it. It's rare that I follow a sketch exactly. This is one of those rare times. It's just such a great layout design and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. It's rare that I get all 7 of us in one place at the same time...let alone with all our clothes matching and everyone in a decent mood. It hasn't happened since this photo in 2005 so I had to scrap it! :)

I used the line cling stamp (CG186) on the background. That sucker is hard to line up even with the stamp-a-ma-jig. It took me 3 tries but I was determined! lol I used the graph stamp (S5435) in white on the kraft and I love it. I love those stamps.

I cut the heart and the word family out with my Silhouette.

Off to watch my son's track meet....have a great day!

Be your own ROCKSTAR! (Tuesday Trigger)

Hi all. I am back again this Sunday with another Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. I knew instantly what I wanted to do with this trigger. As the mom of 3 boys I am always struggling for boy cards. I love to give them cards but the truth is I find them hard to make. When I saw the colors of the dots and the gray it just screamed "BOY" at me. So this is the trigger:
A Polka Dotted Hullabaloo

and this is what I did:
Rockstar

Rockstar 3

Rockstar 2
I stayed very true to the trigger. I just loved those colored dots. I then used rub-ons to add some of boys interests on them. I loved the MME quote so I used it for the title of my card. This one will find it's way to one of my son's soon.

Thanks for coming by. Don't forget to head over to the Moxie Fab World blog and leave some love for the other entries. They are FAB!!! :)

Cheers!
