Just sitting here thinking of you

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I spent my weekend in my jammies making cards! The kids were all off at friends houses and it left me so much free time! I could get used to it!! lol

I had this card in my head. I just needed to make sure I executed it properly so that it was all proportioned right and everything was in comparable scale to one another.

I love this Whiff of Joy stamp. I really wanted to use it to represent me in the card for my sweet friend who is going through a lot right now. Willow looks a lot like I did when I was younger.

The Hero Arts chair was too small for Willow to sit in, as was the table. So I stamped them on plain white paper, scanned them into my computer and made digital brushes out of the chair and table so that they would be the same scale as Willow. It worked beautifully. I also scanned Willow in so that I could sit her in the chair as I increased it size to make sure it all worked.

When I had everything proportioned correctly I printed it out. I colored them in and designed the room. For the table I printed it in black then I covered it in Distress Rock Candy Crackle paint. I love the subtle effect it left. For the picture frames I stamped the puppy and kitten and then colored them in. I cut it down to fit in the concho and then covered them with Glossy Accents so it looked like real picture frames. I also found a little clock face that fit perfectly in the circle concho. I drew little hands on it with a Souffle pen it worked beautifully on the plastic face of the clock. I stamped the flowers/vase and cut them out (a big ole pain...but so worth it) and then covered them in glossy accents too.

I used Basic Grey Nook & Pantry paper for the background. I stamped the Hero Arts wood grain stamp for the floor. I also wanted a picture on the side wall. I just stamped a Hero Arts Butterfly stamp repeatedly in different color distress inks and then cut it on an angle so that it looked like it was on a side wall. I used a gold leaf pen to create the frame of it.

That's it. It was kind of a lot of work but my friend is so very worth it.

Have a GREAT Monday! :)
Cheers

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

So this is my first time doing a Tuesday trigger over at the Moxie Fab World blog. Every week I look at them and say "I'm going to do that" and I never do...so this week I DID! Here is the trigger:
Bed & Bath Catalog from Pottery Barn

Now you might be thinking...."what the hell is she drinking?" and "pour me a tall glass of it" but I was having a bad day. It was gray and gloomy and all I wanted was sunshine, birds chirping and lush green trees and spring colors all around me. Then I saw this picture. The angels sang. I imagined myself sitting on that daybed with the sunlight beaming in from gorgeous french doors, that you can't see, that lead out to a beautiful deck full of flowers with the lush green trees out the window (that you can see) And with that my friends....I created this card:
tuesday trigger 1

So if you haven't joined the Moxie Fab World challenge yet...I urge you to. I have never made a card so quickly before. The entire thing just came together and I had a sketch down in seconds. Enjoy!

May Spring be knocking on all our doors very soon!

Michelle

love u

I have a quick easy card to share tonight. I really wanted to do red hearts on kraft and I did just that. :)

I stamped the Hero Arts heart with Versamark repeatedly, added red embossing powder and heated it. I punched a strip of white cardstock with a Martha Stewart punch and added to KI Memories Icicle letters on top of each other for more dimension and less transparency.

That's it.
Happy Friday!
