Baby Card

001baby feet

A very quick and simple card. A reject from a recent "baby" call. The photo is horrible. I am sorry. I so need a camera. I hope Santa brings me one. Anyhow....

I cut the feet using my Silhouette. I embossed the frames with my Martha Stewart Score Board, I printed the title off the computer and added a bow. Very simple.

Off to finish my Halloween decoration that I am making for Nichol's "A year in Die Cutting Machines" Class at 2 peas! So fun!!!

Have a great day/night!

"Inspired by" Nichol Magourik

Note***Sorry Jill, had to borrow *Your* title for this post =)

I was totally inspired by Nichol Magourik. I love her stuff. She is one of my all time favorite scrapbookers/stampers, she is one of the greatest enablers and to boot she the sweetest gal ever. Love her!!

I have 2 projects that I lifted Nichol on but I am only posting one for now. I have to wait until my mom gets the other one. I don't want to ruin the surprise. ;)

Nichol has a great video tutorial on how to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig on her blog where this bookmark is. You can see it HERE Please check it out. You will get to see her amazing bookmark and you will want the Stamp-a-ma-jig...I promise! :)

Here is my take on her bookmark:
book mark fairy
When I saw the bookmark that Nichol made for her sweet girl I had to lift it. I had to. I had promised my niece eons ago that I would make her a book mark. I kept forgetting. When I saw Nichol's I knew this was the one I had to make. Faith had seen it too and asked me for one. So I actually made two. One in pink and one in blue. I only photographed this one.

I didn't have the book stamp like Nichol so I improvised. Below is a picture tutorial on how I did it. It was very simple.

I had this invitation set from Studio G. I cut one of the the blocks where the words were and stamped it onto the bottom of my bookmark.

I like the swirl on it. I thought it gave it some character. Next I stamped it 2 more times. Flipping it upside down so the swirl moved.

then I took a pencil and a ruler and drew in the rest of the lines. I traced them with a very thin black marker and colored them in. Hint....if you have a Copic use it instead. I smeared a little as I don't have a black Copic. ** edited to add...this is where I stamped the book fairy and then I masked her off and drew in the rest of the lines with black marker. Very important to stamp her first.
I colored it in with my Copics and then I added a ribbon and a charm to the end of it so it wouldn't get "lost" in her book. They both loved them. I didn't take a picture of them but I covered the back with some really cute MME paper.

Have a jolly Christmas...Whiff of Joy

Jolly christmas 1

I have had this little guy for a while now. He was my first Whiff of Joy purchase and I love him. I waited to use him until I got that canvas stripe stamp in. Went to my lss and found it in stock this week. I was so excited I started dancing in the aisle. I have so many plans for that stamp.

Anyhow....I started by cutting my shape with my Nestabilities die labels 8 & stamping Henry on it. I then masked him off and used the snowflake cling stamp and stamped it in Versamark, I heat embossed it using white embossing powder and then I used a cotton ball to apply the Ice Blue Colorbok chalk ink. I like the cotton ball rather than foam for the chalk ink. I think it goes on much smoother and I think it goes a lot farther for some reason. Just my preference.

I peeled the mask off Henry and then I colored him with my cool gray Copic (C0). I used my Prismacolor colored pencil in Silver to shade him. I love my colored pencils. I love to shade with them and I seen as I don't own a million colors of Copics this works very well for me. It gives me the best of both worlds. :)

For the bauble I colored it with colored pencil then I used some silver stickles and then some Star Dust (best Stickles color EVER!!!) and while it was still wet I covered the entire bauble with Glossy Accents. It doesn't mix. I just let it dry overnight. I do it all the time. I used to wait for it to dry and got impatient one night and tried it. It worked & I was a happy camper.

Jolly Christmas 2

I then tore a strip of paper, slightly inked the top and attached it, stamped the holly and added a little stickles, tied some bakers twine, stamped my title and attached it all to the canvas background. I inked the canvas background with Fire Brick Distress ink, spritzed it with a little water and then stamped. It made the red just pop. Love it.

I am in a serious Christmas Crafting mood. Are you making anything this year? If so, please share. I am always on the look out for new things. I do a Christmas Craft fair every year and I love to incorporate new things. So if you have seen anything...link me up. I will be sharing my stuff soon.

Have a wonderful Wednesday! :)

Michelle

I scrapped!!! Finally!

I am back and I couldn't be happier!!! I have missed my blog and my online friends. Life has really gotten in the way of my crafting and I felt lost. But it's over and I am back!!! So lets get right to it shall we.....
U @ 13 complete
My Minds Eye is one of my all time favorite paper companies. I own a ton of their paper...they are up there with Basic Grey and the very, very missed Scenic Route. I really wanted to use this silhouette paper and I thought it would look nice paired with a photo I recently took of my son while we were on a whale watch. I wanted him to know how great a kid I think he is @ 13.

I did a lot of paper layering and I used my Silhouette with some print and cuts from the Silhouette store and I also used this kit from Kerri Bradford. I love her stuff. I love it. I crave it. It's an addiction. I miss seeing her over at the Silhouette blog. Her designs are to-die-for so if you haven't been to her blog go visit it. She has so much freakin' talent it's unbelievable. Love her stuff!

The photo is mounted on the folder from the above kit. I used my xacto knife to cut some of the silhouette flower on the MME paper to use to hold the corner of the photo. Inside the folder is the notepaper, also from above kit and I journaled this on it:

Thirteen...I had dreaded this age with you for so long. I had been through it with Brenden and had a rough go of it. I was in no hurry to go back there...but you have proven all my fears wrong. Thirteen has been such a joy with you. We are closer than ever and I can truly say I look forward to time spent with you. You are kind and caring...always taking time to ask me how I am or how my day was. You willing share with me about your day and about your friends. You always show daddy & I total respect and you have earned ours right back. You are a great kid! I am not sitting around waiting for the other shoe to drop with you. I think we have forged a very tight bond and I absolutely treasure that with you. Thanks for being so incredibly awesome! <3>
