coloring part duex

Just a quick one. I love simple but it can be very hard to achieve. I had this one in my head and knew exactly what I wanted it to look like and it doesn't happen often but this looks just like what was in my head! Go to Flickr and check out the Hero Arts pool. So much gooooood stuff! :)

I again am making an album for someone so my stuff will be on hold for another week. Hoping, hoping to get my Etsy store up soon. So much to do....so little time! :)

Materials used: HA stamp c3236 meadow buttercup, HA cards (purple and kraft), Prisma color pencils, ribbon

coloring

I love to color. I have always loved to color. I remember going away to my grandparents summer home and sitting around the table on the porch coloring with my mother and my aunts. I remember how good my mother's coloring was....it still is. Even now I think she still colors better than me.

I spend a lot of time coloring with my daughter. She loves to color. We have mini bags packed all over the house so that we can grab one every time we run out of the door. We have car crayons and house crayons. We color in the car when we have to wait for one of the boys or in an appointment somewhere.

This week Jen McGuire's theme on the Hero Arts blog is coloring. I was very excited. I have a very bad back. It causes me much grief. I went camping with my family last week and I have been stuck in the big chair in the living room for days with ice on my back. I spent a lot of time coloring this week. Below is what I colored.

I hope you enjoy. If you haven't opened a new box of crayons lately....do so. The memories will come flooding back....I promise!!

Fly

I made this really quick last night for my son before he headed out. I tucked some cash into it for him and stuck it in his pocket. I hope he likes it.....I know he'll like the cash. I wrote him a letter inside and sent the lyrics of "My Wish" from Rascall Flatts. I used the same song in a video montage I made for him on his 21st birthday. Letting go is so stinking hard!!!!!!!

I based it off a sketch on the Hero Arts blog sneak peek week 2/sketches 2. Shari Reguly is hosting this week. I am sure most of you have been there but if not check it out.

I am not back to crafting again...but hoping to tonight. I am trying to mend my sad heart. I miss my son already.

Back later this week with a happier post.

I am AWOL and I apologize!

Hi, Just a quick post. I have been very absent from my blogging. My son is moving across the country to go to ASU (Arizona State University) and I have had so much to do....most of it crying. I haven't done any scrapbooking/cardmaking in weeks. Hoping to jump back on the train very soon.

I miss my world of creating. If you have any blogs of interest I would love the distraction/inspiration!

thanks
